John Joseph Redmond appears in court charged with Athol Street attack

61 year old victim still in hospital

The 22-year-old man charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on a 61 year old Douglas man has been named as John Joseph Redmond.

Redmond was arrested shortly after the man was discovered with serious injuries on Athol Street on Monday morning.

The 61 year old remains in hospital with no update on his condition.

An application for legal aid was made; Redmond will be remanded in custody until his next court appearance on the 19th July.
