Kayaker aims to set record for paddle around Britain

A kayaker from the Isle of Man is attempting to break the speed record for the circumnavigation of Britain. 

24 year old Joe Leach, who now lives in Cornwall, is attempting to kayak 2,500 miles of British coastline and aims to break the record which currently stands at 80 days. 

For the next three months Joe will paddle unaided, something he has decided to undertake to test his stamina, mental toughness and boat skills. 

Yesterday (Wednesday) Joe kayaked from Wales to Port St Mary and 3FM caught up with him as he arrived to find out more about his challenge:
