KFC has blamed ‘commercial reasons’ for pulling the plug on its Douglas store.
The Duke Street restaurant closed its doors on Sunday – it was first opened by comic Norman Wisdom in May 2002.
Eight staff have lost their jobs as a result of the closure – KFC says it has offered them roles at its other restaurants.
A spokesperson for the store says it’s currently scouting for a location on the Island which could accommodate a ‘drive-thru’ facility.
The company says it hopes to have some good news for ‘local fans’ in the future.
