Landmark Education Bill to be read in Tynwald

Legislation which the government says will modernise the education system will be introduced to the House of Keys next week.

The Education Bill updates the Education Act 2001, which is the Island's main education law.

Amendments increase support for children in care and give schools more powers to control admissions in high-demand areas.

The Bill will have its first reading when the House of Keys sits on Tuesday, November 25.
