Figures an Improvement on Last Years Campaign
Figures for the latest drink driving campaign have been released and they compare favourably on the same campaign carried out last year.
There was however still a significant amount of people stopped during the month long campaign.
In the month that the campaign ran from 11th June to 11th July 363 vehicles were stopped.
Of that number there were 12 arrests, subsequently 9 people have been charged.
Motorists are reminded that all year round Police are on the lookout for drink drivers, and anyone caught will be severely punished.
