Laws in place to ban offensive signs, says minister

There are already laws which can ban graphic images, according to a minister.

Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey faced questions from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse in the House of Keys this week.

He wanted to know why campaigners are show offensive images in areas such as Castletown square - Mr Malarkey said it was an attempt to stop the Island's abortion laws being modernised.

But he added disturbing the peace, injuring public morals, outraging decency, or using provoking language are already illegal.
