Laxey commissioners to spend £14,000 following floods

Commissioners in Laxey are to spend more than £14,000 repairing fencing around a tennis court damaged in recent floods.

Garff's local authority has applied for planning permission to replace the four-metre high chain link fence around the facility on Glen Road.

At a meeting of Garff Commissioners, members approved a tender from Laxey firm Top-Spec fencing to carry out the work.

The board was told three companies were approached over the contract, which will cost around £14,500.
