    Lifeboat forced to rescue charity swimmers

    Two people have been rescued by the lifeboat services after a running in to trouble during a charity swim Ramsey this afternoon (Friday).

    A group of three swimmers went for a charity dip in the town’s bay this afternoon to raise money for Children in Need.

    However, in rough conditions, two of them had to find shelter on a ledge of South Pier before the lifeboat was called in to action.

    One was male believed to be in his early 40s and a female thought to be in her late teens.

    It’s understood they were workers at a bowling alley. An ambulance was quickly on the scene to attend to the swimmers after they were rescued, both are understood to be fine.
