Local man charged following attempted vehicle theft

In the early hours of this morning police arrested a 44 year old local man after he was seen trying the doors of parked vehicles.

It happened in the Baldrine area around 03.20am.

The arrested man has now been charged with multiple offences of attempted theft, taking a vehicle without permission and going equipped to steal.

Anyone living in that area is asked to check to see if anything is missing from their vehicles, the police have also urged people to lock their doors as it will deter opportunist thieves.

The man will appear in court tomorrow.
