Fire Confined to Reception Area and Boardroom
It’s now been confirmed that the overnight fire on Lord Street began in the offices of Baker Tilly.
The fire was mostly confined to the reception area and boardroom of the offices.
Fire crews were called out to the blaze at around 3.24AM this morning, upon arrival the fire was well established on the first floor over the premises above Top Shop.
The fire took 20 minutes to extinguish, with the fire crews monitoring the hot spots continually in order to prevent re-ignition.
There were no injuries as a result of the blaze but surrounding shops including the Co-op, Top Shop and the Caf sustained smoke damage.
