An Onchan man has been fined £300 and been stung with three penalty points after losing his R plate.
22-year-old Taylor Shipton, of Falkland Drive, was stopped by police on the Mountain Road on February 17th.
A police officer had spotted he was only displaying the plate on the front of his motorbike - and not the rear.
After following him to Brandish Corner the officer also noted he was travelling in excess of the 50mph speed limit he was restricted to.
Shipton admitted the offences - at Douglas Courthouse on Thursday his advocate said it had been his first ride of the year and he hadn't noticed the rear R plate had come off.
Magistrates also ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £50 and extended his R plates for a further six months telling him: "In future keep an eye on your speedometer."
