The Mountain Road has now closed to traffic to allow for major roadworks to start.
The first phase throughout this week will see a closure between 9.30am and 5pm daily - with a possible further closure on Friday in the event of bad weather.
Although the section from the Bungalow to Ramsey will be closed for the whole week the road between the Creg-ny-Baa and the Bungalow will reopen each day from 5pm.
Next week the Mountain Road will be closed for a further three weeks during off-peak hours for more work.
