By Jason Roberts - Court Reporter

A man accused of making nuisance phone calls to the emergency services has been bailed.

Jonathan Richard Fletcher of Mona Street in Douglas appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Christopher Arrowsmith at Douglas Courthouse via a live video link from the Isle of Man prison.

He hasn’t yet entered pleas to charges of making nuisance calls and breaching a probation order on September 8.

After hearing the 52 year old had served the equivalent of a four-month prison sentence on remand, Mr Arrowsmith bailed him in the sum of £500 on condition he only uses the 999 service in a genuine emergency.

He’s next due to appear in court on November 19.
