A plasterer who was banned from driving almost 20 year ago has been handed a fresh ban for getting behind the wheel twice without retaking his test.
Christopher Kevin McCluskey of Anagh Coar Road in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 40 year old pleaded guilty to two counts each of driving while disqualified and having no insurance.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the court police spotted McCluskey driving a white Citroën Berlingo on Strang Road on September 15 last year but didn’t stop him.
Officers arrested him on November 8 after stopping him in the van at Braddan Bridge - he’d been banned from driving in 2004 but had never retaken his test.
Magistrates fined him £1,050, banned him from driving for 12 months and ordered him to pay £125 costs as well as putting five points on his driving licence.
