Using his mobile phone while behind the wheel has cost a Douglas man £300.
Daniel Craig Priestnal of Westmoreland Court admitted the offence via a coroner's admission before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
Prosecutor Richard Butters told the court police spotted Priestnal on his phone as he drove past them in a blue VW Transporter on Johnny Watterson's Lane at around 4pm on December 10.
The court heard officers were so close they could see the phone's screen was lit, although the 33 year old denied speaking to anybody on his device.
Magistrates fined him £250, ordered him to pay £50 costs and put four penalty points on his driving licence.
