Man fined for using mobile while while driving

A Santon man who used a mobile phone in an untaxed car has been fined a total of £500.

Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes heard Thomas Edward Andrews of Ballavartyn House was spotted by a police officer on November 17.

He admitted using a mobile phone while driving and not taxing his Vauxhall Vivaro van by coroner's admission.

As well as fining him, Mrs Hughes ordered him to pay £50 costs and endorsed his driving licence with four points after hearing he had similar convictions from 2003 and 2005.
