    Man offered to make donation to charity after assaulting paramedics

    A man's offered to make a donation to charity after admitting assaulting and abusing paramedics.

    Lee Darbyshire of Greeba Avenue in Glen Vine appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.

    The 47-year-old admitted provoking behaviour and assault on November 5 last year.

    Ambulance staff responded after Darbyshire drunkenly collapsed in a neighbour's driveway - he grabbed the crotch of a male paramedic and made a lewd remark to his female colleague.

    Magistrates fined Darbyshire a total of £1,500 and ordered him to pay £125 costs - adding they had no powers over the charitable donation.
