A man who hid more than £1,700 worth of heroin internally will be sentenced next month.
Paul Clint Shields of Mona Terrace in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 45 year old pleaded guilty to possessing 14.1 grammes of the class A drug on December 3 last year.
Prosecutor Chrissie Hunt told the hearing Shields was a passenger in a blue Mini when police stopped the car for a drugs search.
He was taken to police headquarters before being taken to Noble’s Hospital where he produced a package of white powder – he told police he’d bought the heroin for his own personal use for just £200 because it was low quality.
Tests later showed the drug was just 14 per cent pure.
After hearing Shields had numerous drugs convictions, magistrates asked for pre- sentencing reports to be prepared and bailed him to appear again on June 30.
