Man spat in A&E nurse's face

A Castletown man who spat at a nurse in A&E has been ordered to carry out unpaid work.

Brendan Creer of Y Vaarney Yiarg appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Rachael Braidwood at Douglas Courthouse for sentencing.

The 20-year-old admitted assault after spitting in a nurse's face at Noble's hospital on December 21 last year.

The court heard he was drunk and being treated for a head injury at the time.

He was ordered to do 120 hours community service and has been put on probation supervision for 12 months, as well as paying £250 compensation and £125 costs.
