Manx-backed company prepares for moon launch day!

A company backed by the Isle of Man government is hoping to launch a datacentre to the moon this week.

Lonestar Data Holdings, set up by Manxman Chris Stott, is planning to launch an Athena lander atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on Wednesday.

On board the spacecraft, called IM-2, will be a small data center called Freedom which will be powered by solar energy and use natural cooling.

Last year a test landing reached the moon to become the first commercial lander on the lunar surface.
