    Manx school celebrates two decades

It is 20 years since the island's only Manx speaking primary school opened.

Bunscoill Ghaelgagh in St John's was established in September 2001 after the popularity of a Manx language pre-school playgroup, and now has 4 classes across the primary school age groups.

Current headteacher, Julie Matthews, says the Manx language is important to our culture and identity and it's wonderful to see how it has enriched the lives of pupils and their families as they followed their Primary curriculum through Manx.

She also wants to encourage all members of the Gaelic speaking community, and anyone interested in taking part, to join them in their celebrations during the year.
