The project to remove 44,000 tonnes of silt from Peel Marina is 'vital to the ongoing prosperity' of the town.
That's according to chair of the Peel Marina Project Board, MHK Tim Baker, as plans have been drawn up to use the material to restore land near the former Cross Vein Mine near Foxdale.
Officials have submitted a planning application to create an engineered pool to temporarily store and drain the silt so it can be used.
The marina was last dredged in 2015 - the proposals will be on display at Peel Town Hall from Monday, December 17, to Thursday, December 20.
