Cav takes second as Andre Greipel snatches the win

Mark Cavendish has been narrowly beaten to the 18th Tour De France stage win of his career this afternoon by German sprinter Andre Greipel.

The Manx Missile seemed to be well set up to claim his third win of the tour when Greipel turned on the pace for the final 20 metres.

It was a similar story last week with the roles reversed when narrowly Cavendish beat Greipel to the line.

Tomorrow's flat stage will present another chance for the Manx rider to add to his win tally before they hit the tough climbs of the Pyrenees on Thursday.
