Mark Cavendish was on top form yesterday to take the win in the 2012 Olympics road race rehearsal.

It bodes well for Cav who is regarded as one of Britains top gold medal hopes for next Summers Olympics.

Still riding high on the triumph of winning the green jersey in last months Tour De France he secured yesterdays win after beating professionals from 21 nations in the 140 kilometre race which finished at Buckingham Palace.

His next competition is the Tour of Spain which starts next Saturday.
