There are no plans to bring in a new breast cancer drug for Island patients.
That’s according to the Department of Health which says it won’t enter into discussions about the drug Kadcycla until NICE approves it.
The department says it relies on the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence to determine a drug’s clinical cost and effectiveness.
Drugs that are approved by the alternative Cancer Drugs Fund in the UK are not funded on the Island.
