MHK queries 'disastrous purchase' of locomotive

Railway bosses should be held accountable for the "disastrous purchase" of a diesel locomotive - which cost over £400,000.

That's the claim made by Onchan MHK Peter Karran, who is questioning if the 2013 buy is fit for purpose.

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says he appreciates people do have concerns after a number of issues:

The locomotive carries out a number of essential tasks and will ensure the long-term future of heritage railways.
