MHK says housing policy isn't fit for purpose

The Department of Infrastructure's housing policy isn't fit for purpose, according to an Onchan MHK.

Rob Callister has written to the DOI about its earning limits for those waiting for social housing - at the moment, they have to earn less than £38,000 a year.

Mr Callister says a couple on minimum wage would earn £42,000 - ruling them out of getting a home.

He's asked Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall to raise the income thresholds.
