MHK says spend cash on potholes, not 20mph signs

An Onchan MHK says the public doesn't want blanket 20mph speed limits around the island - and the money should be spent on fixing roads.

Rob Callister took to Facebook after DOI minister Michelle Haywood revealed the project would cost the taxpayer around £400,000.

He says the department should scrap its plans once central Douglas has been finished.

And he says the remaining £380,000 should be spent on improving roads around Douglas and Onchan instead of installing signs the public doesn't want.
