Manx-based Tory peer Michelle Mone has told a national UK newspaper she and her husband Doug Barrowman were involved in a company being sued over £200 million worth of protective gear it supplied during the pandemic.
The Guardian says Mr Barrowman was the chairman and part-owner of the PPE Medpro consortium which supplied the UK government with face masks and surgical gowns in 2020 - he earned £65 million in profits from two contracts.
The couple had previously denied being involved with the organisation.
The UK government is suing the firm for £122m it paid for the surgical gowns, claiming they were unsafe for use in the NHS, while the National Crime Agency is investigating the company.
