Having armed police on patrol around the Island means a quicker response to incidents, according to a minister.
Home Affairs Minister Jane Poole-Wilson confirmed the patrolling car is a change brought in last year.
She was responding to a question about the police firearms budget in the House of Keys this week from Castletown, Arbory and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
Mrs Poole-Wilson says other than the patrols, nothing has changed:
