Partially submerged vessel found off the South coast with nobody onboard.
A missing man was found in rough seas off the South coast of the Island yesterday.
While out on exercise at 6PM, Port Erin lifeboat were called to lookout for an overdue boat, which was on the way to Port St Mary but hadn't arrived.
They found the vessel half an hour later partially submerged, with nobody onboard. An urgent search was launched to include another lifeboat and helicopter.
Within 15 minutes the man was found drifting towards rocks, kept afloat only by his life jacket. He had apparently been knocked overboard from his boat by the rough sea.
He was assisted by an ambulance once back on dry land.
