More People Caught Speeding This TT Then Previous Years

Drivers Being Urged To Adhere To Speed Limits

When the roads are open for public use this week, motorists are being reminded to drive carefully.

During the days the Mountain Course is used as a race track for professional bikers, however police are increasingly concerned that away from the races, people aren't adhering to speed limits.

Drivers are four times more likely to be caught speeding during the TT festival that at any other time of the year.

Inspector Mark Britton from the roads policing unit told 3FM that in some areas motorists have been seen driving at more than double the speed limit.

He said that, so far this year, more people have been issued court summons for speeding.
