Murder Trial: Blood found in 30 places

At Douglas Courthouse today the lead scene of crime officer and the forensic scientist, who attended 40 Queen Street, in December 2013, gave evidence.

 

Jurors were also shown photographs of the blood spots found on the ground floor of the property - these were taken in the days following the death of 60-year-old Ballabeg man Neil Roberts. 

 

The majority of the blood was found in the living room but there was also evidence of it in the kitchen and snug area - samples were collected, tested and sent for DNA profiling. 

 

46-year-old Ian Anderson claims there were three altercations between the two men and admits punching and kicking Mr Roberts - he denies murder. 

 

The court also heard the staining on the kitchen floor was as a result of Anderson moving through the room - his socks wet with Mr Robert's blood. 

 

There was nothing in the way the blood splattered to suggest Mr Roberts had been walking around after sustaining his injuries.
