Need for change 'increasingly urgent', says Minister

The need to make changes to the way we live on Island to combat climate change has become 'increasingly urgent'.

That's according to Environment, Food & Agriculture Minister, Geoffrey Boot MHK, this week as his department launched a public consultation for a new climate change strategy to run from 2020 to 2030.

Government is urging the public to take part, with some of the ideas being explored in it including improving energy efficiency in buildings, education on consumer behaviour and electrification of heating and transport sectors.

The consultation - which is running for eight weeks - is available on the government consultation hub.
