A new purpose-built complex for the Island's Civil Defence marks 'a new chapter for the organisation'.
That's according to Home Affairs Minister, Bill Malarkey MHK, as it was announced the authority's new headquarters in Tromode will be officially opened on Wednesday next week.
Mr Malarkey added personnel provide vital service to the Isle of Man all year round and the new facility will give opportunities for up to 50 volunteers there to develop their skills.
The Civil Defence is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year - the move comes following the sale of the former Home Affairs base on Homefield Road in Douglas.
