The government is bringing in new employee rights for parents later this year.
Updated laws on shared parental leave and bereavement will come into force in November.
It’ll mean parents will be entitled to take an extra two weeks’ leave following the death of a child under 18, including stillbirths - and one week for miscarriages.
Parents will also be allowed to share up to 50 weeks of leave to care for a new baby in the first 12 months, though maternity and paternity leave will still be available as options.
