    New facility to help vulnerable people reintegrate following mental health issues

    The aim of this facility will be to help people reintegrate after leaving in-patient care, enabling them to regain confidence and skills.

    A major effort is underway to provide a wider range of accommodation options for people needing care and support to live a more independent life.

    The Department of Social Care along with Social Services and the Housing Division are responding to the suggestions and wishes of those affected.

    They will be developing existing properties at Tynwald Terrace into facilities to aid people following an episode of mental health.

    The aim of this facility will be to help people reintegrate after leaving in-patient care, enabling them to regain confidence and skills.

    Member for Social Services, Bill Malarkey MHK, has said it’s important the Island has the appropriate facilities to enable people to re-enter life in the community in a planned and supported manner.
