    New-look Laxey bridge to open on Thursday

    The bridge was destroyed in flooding

    Laxey Bridge is expected to re-open on Thursday after nearly a year out of service.

    The bridge collapsed during last year's floods and has been out of use since then. 
     
    There were suggestions the route would be back in use by TT - that was then pushed back to the Festival of Motorcycling and then finally to the end of September. 
     
    Project manager Aidan McCusker says once open for access the finishing touches, including the final layer of road covering, will be finalised by October 18th:
