The change means Shaw’s Brow can now remain open 24 hours a day.
The new Barrier system for the Douglas Borough Council’s three public car parks has been introduced from today.
For the new system two entry and exit barriers have been installed at Shaw’s Brow, while the Bottleneck and Pulrose Road sites will operate with just one.
It now means that instead of the traditional pay and display you will take a ticket upon entry which you will then have to pay in order for the barrier arm to let you out.
The change means Shaw’s Brow can now remain open 24 hours a day.
The new system has been described as user friendly and convenient, and a good way to ensure fewer incidents of parking fee evasions.
