Housing probation staff and offenders under the same roof could help deter them from reoffending.
That's the view of the Department of Home Affairs which has moved its offices to a new hub at Tromode House in Cronkbourne Village.
It says combining probation services and living accommodation - when the bail hostel relocates - will promote a more 'integrated offender management system':
