Attorney General Walter Wannenburgh says none of the government's lawyers only work on green issues.
He faced a question for written response from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse about how many employees were dedicated to what he called "the green agenda".
Mr Wannenburgh said legal work and advice for various parts of government could include references to environmental issues.
But he said no staff only worked on such matters, and no such work had been commissioned externally.
