No lockdown and no new Covid cases

There will be no Island lockdown at this time and no new Coronavirus cases have been found in the last 24 hours.

The Council of Ministers met today to discuss the current Covid-19 situation after two unexplained cases of the illness were announced yesterday.

Government says whilst the two cases remain unexplained, extensive testing of close contacts has returned negative results.

As a result, ministers have decided residents can go about their business as normal with no restrictions and schools will be open as planned tomorrow.

Officials say the situation will continue to be closely monitored and the public are urged to be extra vigilant.

Anyone who develops any Coronavirus symptoms is asked to self-isolate immediately and call 111.
