People on benefits are suffering poverty but there’s no money to increase the threshold.
That’s according to MLC for Health and Social Care Dudley Butt who says the current spend is all government can afford.
It comes as it’s claimed nearly 1 million people in Britain rely on handouts for basic necessities like food.
