Government does not have any funds in reserve to pay for damage caused by bad weather.
That’s according to the Chief Minister who says any extra costs incurred have to come out of existing budgets.
And despite being asked to set up a centralised fund for all departments to contribute to Allan Bell says this is not an idea that will be progressed at this time.
The damage caused by the recent bad weather was raised by Castletown MHK Richard Ronan in Tynwald earlier this week.
He says he’s not convinced the emergency disaster act that Mr Bell say’s in place is adequate:
