No plans to increase gas prices, says energy regulator

The Island's energy regulator says it has no plans to allow gas prices to rise soon.

The Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority issued a statement in response to claims in the House of Keys last week about prices being put up because more people are on payment plans.

It says it'll be carrying out a mid-year review for 2024 in the next month, and doesn't predict prices rising.

And it adds given current market, there could be a price reduction for gas users - although it admits it can't predict future conditions.
