Nobody fined for dog fouling in last seven years

The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it hasn't prosecuted or fined anybody for dog fouling in the last seven years.

A Freedom of Information request to the department asked how many prosecutions it had taken out against people since 2018.

In response, DEFA said it hadn't prosecuted anybody or issued penalties under its byelaws.

It says it has one countryside ranger who patrols its 28,000 acres of land, adding they try to educate dogwalkers about fouling.
