The chair of the Island's Housing and Communities Board says there isn't enough time to bring in new legislation before the next election.
In the House of Keys this week, David Ashford was quizzed by Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas about the Housing and Communities Bill, designed to modernise housing law.
Mr Thomas wanted to know why the bill had been taken off the government's to-do list.
Mr Ashford told members there wasn't enough time left under the current government:
MHK to query Liverpool ferry terminal running costs
Emergency repairs to close Port St Mary road
Commissioners host 20mph drop-in
Tractor run heads north
House plan to restore Foxdale Deads
Douglas to sign Friendship Agreement with Dublin
Ramsey hosts postponed fireworks display
