Number of children who committed crimes after police intervention not known, says MHK

The Island's Justice Minister says she doesn't know how many children have committed offences after interventions from the police early action team.

Yesterday in the House of Keys, Jane Poole-Wilson faced questions from Onchan MHK Julie Edge about criminals aged under 17.

She revealed statistics on how many children reoffend after police have tried to steer them away from crime.

And Mrs Poole-Wilson said although there had been 216 child prosecutions in 2023, she didn't know how many youngsters had been convicted:
