A nurse who physically mistreated an elderly patient on a mental health ward has been struck off the nursing register by the regulator.
David Victor Kenneth Graham refused to take part in a disciplinary hearing before the Nursing and Midwifery Council, saying he'd retired and was going to the Phillipines instead.
The incident happened in 2019 when Mr Graham used excessive force and unapproved restraint techniques on a patient who was being admitted to the Glen Suite at Manannan Court.
He was sacked for gross misconduct in 2020 after an investigation - the NMC found the allegations of misconduct had been proven, and stuck him off the register.
