A charity is hoping to raise the £100,000 needed to save the Family Library in Douglas after its directors said it would close next month.
The Friends of the Family Library has set up a JustGiving page to try to save the facility on Westmorland Road.
On its Facebook page, it says the library supports children, families, schools and adults across the Island.
The library is due to cease its lending services on Friday, July 18 and close down for good on Thursday, July 31.
